A perfect hot summer day, a gorgeous setting, covered in the Veuve color with Manhattan as a backdrop. The #VCPoloClassic was simply amazing! Like we all know it from Pretty Woman, the Polo at Liberty State Park is a time to dress up, and that’s just wat New Yorkers love to do. The fun starts long before the Polo does, with champagne popping all around. But when it does, all eyes are on the field. Nacho Figueras, the one the ladies look out for most, didn’t disappoint, earning the team a victory.
During half-time of a match, spectators are invited to go onto the field to participate in a polo tradition called “divot stamping”, which has developed to not only help replace the mounds of earth (divots) that are torn up by the horses’ hooves, but to afford spectators the opportunity to walk about and socialise. I just love this part of the Polo, and I am not alone, it’s showing on the faces of the people captured.
